The Incredible Gaming PC That Costs $30000 – Forbes
What if you had obscene amounts of money and, like the Bugatti Veyron in your garage, you wanted the pinnacle of gaming PCs in your entertainment room too? Well, it seems that there’s definitely a PC for you and it’s called the 8Pack OrionX and built by Overclockers UK. In fact, it costs three times as much as many other extreme gaming PCs I’d normally dream about owning if I won the lottery.
At $30,000, this is undoubtedly the most expensive PC on the planet. Thankfully, though, this isn’t just any old PC. In fact, it’s been built by a world-renowned overclocker and system builder – 8Pack, many of its components are custom-made, while there are actually two distinct super high-end systems built into a single chassis – one that offers enough grunt for workstation use, the other being a crazy-fast gaming-focussed PC, each using insanely fast hardware.
The Orion X’s interior is quite simply astonishing – every inch has been customized with either lighting, fan grills or custom-made coolant manifolds for its liquid cooling system. The latter sports three pumps that drive individual ‘loops’ of coolant in different colors cooling specific parts of both of the internal systems.
Staring at you inside the Phanteks Enthoo Elite chassis is the monstrous workstation system, which sports three Nvidia GeForce Titan X Pascal graphics cards in triple-SLI, with an option for a fourth card too. Each of these has been heavily overclocked, with GPU cores operating at least 2,000MHz.
There’s Intel’s current flagship 10-core CPU – the Core i7-6950X, which has been overclocked to at least 4.4GHz with both it and the graphics cards being liquid-cooled. You also get 64GB of memory, a 3.2TB of SSD storage space with 1TB of that coming from a crazy-fast Intel 750 PCI-E SSD, which can dish out data at over 2,000MB/sec.
