PC Gaming News: Steam Christmas/Winter/Holiday Sale Start Date Confirmed – iTech Post
It wasn’t long ago when Steam held Black Friday sale event and now, Christmas is coming. Several reports have leaked when Steam Winter Sale begins. Prepare your wallets!
Some call it Winter sale, some call it Christmas sale, Winter sale for others. Well, there’s no proper terminology for it so let’s just call it Year-end Sale. The sale starts in 3 weeks and is rumored to end by early January. Steam sale events are the best since you can buy games for cheap, especially Triple-A games that are already a year old or so.
The most awaited Steam sale of the year, because it happens at the end of the year, will start on Dec. 22, and ends by Jan. 2, as leaked at NeoGAF. Halloween sale was only a few weeks ago and time flies so fast; it’s another sale once again. It’s here that Steam gets generous and pours out very big discounts so you don’t have to worry about your wallet. After all, it’s Christmas.
Meanwhile, a screenshot of the same nature surfaced on the internet last month. The post happened before Autumn sale kicked in. The said leak has matched the NeoGAF information about the date targeting Dec. 22. So with that said, speculations lean towards the ‘likely happening’ end of the rumor spectrum. Valve never officially announce their sale date, and it has been their tradition. As of this writing, we just need to have faith on the Dec. 22 rumor.
Developers and publishers need to know ahead the dates, even if it comes from speculations. The information would highly help them on how to give discounts for their own titles on their own stores. It’s a supply and demand thing, basically they need to lower their prices around a Steam sale period so that they can also have their share of sales.
