Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Adapter For Windows Is Now Available Worldwide – Tech Times

Microsoft’s much-awaited wireless adapter for Xbox, which is compatible with Windows, is now being shipped to retailers in the U.S.

The company had introduced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows in June and the device will now finally be available for purchase.

Priced at $24.99, the USB dongle enables users to connect their wireless controller for Xbox One to a Windows 10-powered machine.

“In June, we announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows as part of our commitment for designing Xbox accessories to support both Xbox and Windows. Starting today, we’ve started shipping the adapter to retailers in most markets around the world, including the U.S.,” noted Microsoft in an official blog post on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Prior to the arrival of the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, consumers who wanted a wireless controller did not have any option but to contend with the wireless Xbox 360 for Windows controller. However, with the advent of the Xbox Wireless Adapter, one can deploy the Xbox One controller on a Windows 10-powered console.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter from the company is pretty easy to use and resembles a traditional USB. The dongle can be plugged into the PC’s USB port and one can sync up to eight controllers to a single wireless adapter.

Moreover, a user can sync a maximum of four chat headsets to the wireless adapter, which can be deployed during multiplayer gaming. Microsoft also claims that the dongle can concurrently support stereo audio for a maximum of two headsets.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is now shipping to retail stores in the U.S. and some other parts of the world. It will be available as a standalone for $24.99 or for $79.95 as a bundled package that contains the adapter along with the wireless Xbox One controller.

Once the shipments arrive at the retail stores, consumers can purchase the wireless adapter which is compatible with Windows 10-powered PC’s. The adapter can plug into USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports.
