This 2012 open-world action game published by Square Enix and developed by United Front Games has a current 9 out of 10 rating at Steam. Dubbed as “brutal”, Sleeping Dogs feature a hand-to-hand combat while you fight your enemies using a martial arts system. You play as the undercover cop named Wei Shen who tries to take down Hong Kong’s Triads.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is the remastered version of the original Sleeping Dogs with gameplay tweaks and improvements on the graphics. It also contained all of the DLC of the game. From its original price of $30, you can get this free game until Dec.31.

Outlast – Free for Xbox Live Gold members for the Xbox One

With a perfect rating of 10/10 at Steam, who doesn’t want to have a go at this renowned first-person survival horror game from Red Barrels Studio? Outlast was released in 2013 but still has an amazing playerbase with positive reviews such as “Easily one of the scariest games I’ve ever played” from Bloody Disgusting and “Outlast is the perfect nightmare. …it’s absolutely petrifying. I love it” from Joystiq.

Outlast revolves around protagonist, Miles Upshur, a journalist who investigates a psychiatric hospital located deep into the Colorado mountains. With a stealth-based gameplay and setting inspired from actual asylums, horror game fans, don’t miss this out! Outlast will be available from Dec. 16 to Jan. 15 for the Xbox One.

Outland – Free for Xbox Live Gold members for the Xbox One and Xbox 360

Published by Ubisoft and developed by Housemarque, this 2011 2D platform game takes the player in an immersive journey to save the world by using powers of light and dark. With stunning visuals, fans who are into fast-paced action will definitely find Outlast fun and challenging. This game with a 9/10 rating at Steam and 83% at Metacritic will be available for those with Xbox Live Gold subscriptions from Dec. 1 to 15.

Burnout Paradise – Free for Xbox Live Gold members for the Xbox One and Xbox 360

Who doesn’t enjoy a good racing game? From Dec. 16 to Dec. 31, have a go at this fifth installment from Burnout racing game series. Set in Paradise City, players can compete in this open-world racing game that includes several game modes for the online play such as “Cops and Robbers”. Burnout Paradise has won several awards in 2008 as the Best Driving Game, so you know what to expect.
